I had a few friends that I miss but for the most part I really didn't like that place. Don't get me wrong…it was great because it was high school, but I can't stand Dunnellon as an area. So I guess my favorite memory of the time was high school itself.
Overseas is where I met my wife. She was a student from Orlando and all rest has been great. We got married in Nov. 2001 then decided to move closer. We are holding off on having children as of right now so we can enjoy our youth.
Well, shortly after high school, I decided I was going nowhere at record speed. I made a drastic decision to join the Marines. I spent some time in States then headed for Okinawa, Japan. While there, I traveled all over Asia. Uncle Sam has been great. I have been afforded the opportunity to see many places and live out of country for about 2 years. Currently, we are living in Kaneohe, Hawaii. Next we plan to move to North Carolina. It will be a while before I reside back in Dunnellon. Until then I hope to keep in touch with my close friends.
In April 2000, I met my husband and we got married in May 2001. Our daughter, Bailey, was born in January 2002 and our son, Isaiah, was born in April 2007 on the exact date my husband and I met 7 years prior with 3 minutes to spare.
I moved back to my hometown in Ohio in October of '98. I've been a homemaker for over 2 years. Life is great, and I'm loving it.

I've been moving around more than the average person. I met my husband while I was in Jacksonville, Fl and I've been rooted to the St. Augustine area due to his business. We fought with the employees for 8 years trying to keep me out of the stress of the business, but a the time came when we had no choice. It's actually one of the best things we've done. He wishes we would have done it sooner, but the timing would have been wrong. We should be moving into our property in a couple months. Hopefully in May of 08' just in time for our first child (a boy)to arrive in early June 08'. So between home and a new baby, running the company, and playing landlord to the rental house and the commercial building I always have a good crazy story to share.

One year after High School, I married my childhood sweetheart Joanna, whom I have known since she was 4 and I was 6. It's so nice being married to your best friend. No kids yet - but we do have a son - our 7 lb Yorkie Skippy. :-)
After school, I enrolled in a Surgical Technology program and worked as a surgical tech as I was going to nursing school. (I know - not too many males in that profession. :-) I have worked in the operating room continously, everywhere from major trauma centers like Grady Memorial to small outpatient single specialty centers. I thought at one point that I wanted to be a CEO of a health care facility, so after attaining a BS in Healthcare Administration, I ran an Orthpaedic Surgery Center as Clinical Director for 5 years. Then I served as Administrator for Marietta Plastic Surgery Center. After 6 years of healthcare management, a friend presented an opportunity to start up an Internet Service Company. We started Atlantic Nexus in 2003 and have been rated number one nationally in customer satisfaction since Feb 2006. I still work as an OR nurse to keep my skills up, but when I am not doing that I wear my techie hat and am having a blast with this little project.
Aside from work, my wife and I lead very active lives - Hip Hop Dance Class every Monday and Wednesday nights, and usually 30 to 40 miles of biking on the Silver Comet trail on the weekends.

After high school I got married in 1993 to a man in the cable tv business and we traveled a lot. In 1996 we moved back to Inverness with our two oldest boys, and I went to school at CFCC where I got a degree in computers. I was able to get a great job as a payroll clerk. It was nice to raise the kids in a small town the same way their parents where. After 15 years of marriage and two kids and another one on the way our marriage failed. I now live in Illnois in a town that is smaller then Dunnellon. In my son's eighth grade graduation there was only 50 kids. In my nephew's high school graduation there was only 105 students and they bus students to school that live 10 miles away (that is a small town). I am getting ready to go back to school for nursing. I spend most of my time hanging out with with my three sons.
Favorite Teachers: Mrs. Hess she really helped me through some hard times in life
Memories:
Meeting my friends Lowell, Damon, and Trish in the hall ways in the morning and at lunch time.
Well, I served our country in the navy from (91-98). I was stationed in Norfolk, VA. I got to see a lot of the world from Asia to South America, then I moved to Texas. I never thought that I would miss Dunnellon, but I do and my kids have heard me talk about the fun I had in high school. Now we are going back so they can go to d-high when we get to that part.
At the tender age of three, Kathryn Adkins had already been bitten by the radio bug. Granted, the "station" - WKKJ - was in her bedroom. And her "co-hosts" were her five and seven year old cousins, Kelli and Jimmie... and everything was done on an old, beat-up tape recorder... well, you get the picture. It was the beginning of a beautiful relationship between Kathryn and the sound of her own voice. A few years later, the station moved to the very back of her father's Ford Econoline van and the outlet for that media was a tire-gauge she used as a microphone. Kathryn procured her first radio job at WTRS in 1991 thanks to frequent One Stop Video customers Danny Long and Rick Szost (yes, the same Rick Szost that went to DHS). Within a year, Kathryn had taken over the night position vacated by the wonderful Chris Rhodes and had become the #1 night jock in the Ocala-Gainesville market. The damage was done... she was in radio to stay. Kathryn has had the pleasure of working for a handful of stations she grew up listening to and yearning to be part of including the defunct I-100 which had become 99.9 Kiss FM. Kathryn took some time off of full-time radio to put her brains and pipes to use directing wayward motorists around Orlando while flying for MetroTraffic. She eventually was grounded and became a staple on the Doc and Johnny Morning Show on XL 106.7, often filling in as news anchor at a moment's notice. Kathryn was also firmly entrenched in the cutting-edge WJRR morning show with Crash and Larry the Cable Guy as their official Nude Traffic correspondent. Careful to often push the envelope while not actually opening it, Kathryn was able to flourish in the presence of this stellar morning team. Kathryn's adaptability and offbeat sense of humor made her the darling of local stations shortly after she began her traffic career. She was catapulted into several morning shows, being asked to fill in as a news anchor and co-host for The Morning Posse on 102 Jamz, The Scott and Erika Show on Mix 105.1, The Joe Nasty Show on Power 105.9, The Sean Burke Show on 98.9 WMMO and her on-going part-time gig at XL 106.7 on Saturday mornings and weekdays with Doc and Johnny. She was able to pair credibility with likeability in a very cut-throat market. After the birth of her son, Taylor, in 2000, Kathryn decided to give full-time jocking another try. She and her musician husband packed up the homestead and traveled to the Hoosier State where she landed a cushy midday gig at heritage adult contemporary station 104FM WIKY in Evansville, IN. Kathryn's return to the Orlando market in 2004 brought on a whole new rush of excitement as she became part of Clear Channel's premiere traffic network, TTN. Kathryn was immediately welcomed back into the XL 106-7 family as part of the Doc and Johnny Morning Show and brought motorists home with accuracy and entertainment in the afternoon with Chad Pitt. Kathryn is now returning to the Ocala-Gainesville area and can be heard on K-Country 93.7 on the Mr. Bob Morning Show beginning April 3, 2006! They say you can't go home again, but apparently, "they" never tried! Kathryn married musician Chris Adkins in 1997. They have two sons, Brandon (Chris's son) and Taylor, and a very spoiled Rhodie-Pit mix who thinks she's a child herself.
After graduation in '90 I took to the interstate and traveled to Missouri to attend Culver-Stockton College on a football and baseball scholarship. After two years and two arm injuries, I decided to hang up the cleats and I returned home. After returning to Dunnellon, I took a couple of classes at CFCC, but I wasn't really interested. I took a job with Cone Distributing delivering beer. This led me to a much better paying job at Coca Cola. Although the money was good, the hours began to consume me. I met my wife Shannon ( Forest HS '90), in 1996. We both decided to return to CFCC, and we graduated together in 1997. After working for another year in the vending business, I decided it was time for a career change. I enrolled in the Police Academy at CFCC in 1/98. I graduated in 8/98 and was hired as a police officer in our arch rival town of Williston in 9/98. I am still employed in Williston and recently received my first, of hopefully many more to come, promotions. Shannon is in her final semester of nursing school. She will graduate in December. I have two boys. Brandon is 6 yrs. old and in the first grade. Bryce is 2.5 yrs old. So as you can see we stay pretty busy. I recently attended my reunion where I had a great time, and I hope my fellow classmates have found this site so we can keep in touch.

I'm suffering from early Alzheimer's Syndrome brought on by too much time in the sun from all the swim lessons this week...
After my graduation in '90 I went back to Germany to finally finish school in '92. I finished my bank apprenticeship in '94 and worked for a large German bank in Frankfurt until '99. As I've always loved languages I got a job with the Euro Banking Association in Paris/France to improve my French. I moved here in August '99. I originally wanted to return to Germany after 2 or 3 years but something got in the way: my fiancee. His name is Bertrand Roulin and we will get married this year. As he doesn't speak a word of German I suppose we will be living in France, which is fine by me. Unfortunately I couldn't come to last year's reunion - I would have loved to meet a couple of people from back then. After '90 I've never been back to Dunnellon (much to the dismay of my host parents Joe and Roz Kremer...), nor anywhere else in the States. It would have been about time to see all the changes (I heard that Dunnellon even has a KFC now...). Oh well, maybe in 2015...
Hello All - I graduated with the class of 1990. Since then life had led me on many different paths. I moved the day after graduation to Fort Myers. Where I met and married a beach bum. After the birth of our daughter, Heaven, I realized I must grow up. I have lived in a few states such as TX, IN, and my home has now been made in PA. My daughter and I have been here for 14 years. I received a degree in Medical Assistance in 1992, after my internship at an Invitro-fertilzation clinic I realized this was not the correct road (I passed out during a procedure). After this I worked as a payroll specialist, where I met my current husband, Eric. I went back to school in 2000 and completed my BSBA in Human Resources at Robert Morris University in 2004. My husband and I were married in 2003, and we now live in Latrobe, PA, his home town. It is much larger than Dunnellon, but it is still considered a small town at the base of the Laurel Mountains. My daughter will be turning 15 soon and is looking forward to going to nursing school. We have two yellow labs that we love to take up in the mountains for hikes. We also have our two cats who provide comic relief, to the whole house. I am currently working as an HR Specialist, for Kennametal located near my home. I mainly work in executive recruitment and special projects. I have only been back to Dunnellon two times since graduation. I would like to make it back one of the days for one of the reunions. I keep hearing how much the town has changed.

Got married in '95 to a wonderful and patient man. Met my match, he taught me a lot. Duane, my patient husband, is a Senior Technical Project Manager, also for Alcatel.
Doubt if many of you remember/know me. I had quite an attitude back in the day…But just in case there are some friends out there that ever wondered, here is the nickel tour. After graduation in 1989 I got out of Dunnellon as fast as I could and never came back. My folks still own that B&B on Hwy. 40 and I do visit, but Dunnellon is just too small. I went to a few different universities, ended up with about 178 hours and a degree in Engineering from the University of Texas. I am currently living in Plano, Texas - just north of Dallas. I work for Alcatel as a Telecommunications Reliability Engineer. Life has a way of showing us our mistakes. I hated Dunnellon. Everything about it. Now I realize that I alienated people that should have/could have been friends for life. So consider this an apology. I will still never live in that area again - no good memories, except in the rearview mirror. But, if there are any acquaintances out there that want to get in touch, let me know. It's tough not to have "roots." (no hate mail please - although I probably deserve it)

Thanks to my brothers, I have 4 beautiful nieces and 4 handsome nephews, so our family has grown quite a bit.
After graduation, I went to CFCC for a couple of years. I didn't know what I wanted to do but I took some of Mr. Hartley's classes and was involved in a couple of plays there.
In 1991, I moved to Orlando, FL, and have been in the area ever since. I mainly have worked as a pharmacy technician for most of my adult life. I took a couple of classes here and there at Valencia but never finished. Then, in 2002, I decided to go back to school and finish my degree, and so I did. I started the fall of 2002 and graduated in May of 2004. I went full-time with no break. I got my Bachelor of Science in Organizational Management from Palm Beach Atlantic University. They have a campus here in Orlando for adults who want to finish their degree. I stepped out of pharmacy in 2002 because I wanted to try something new. All I had known was pharmacy, so I thought something new would be good.
Well, that didn't turn out so well. I wanted to go into Human Resources but I just couldn't break into the biz, so to speak. So, in August, I went back to pharmacy full-time and I am loving it. It really is my nitch.
I am still swinging single and loving it, sometimes. I have just rented a house with a couple of friends, we are all tired of the apartment thing, and I love being in a house again. I am very active in the church that I attend. I am involved in Choir, the TV Ministry, and sometimes drama. It is awesome some of the things I have learned there.
So life is pretty good right now but there have been some rough patches. What life doesn't, but I finally feel like life is on the right track. Anyway, that is it for now. I would love to hear from some of you guys, so e-mail me anytime.
Favorite Teachers: Mr. & Mrs. Hartley

So many of them. Between going to the football games and doing drama, it is hard to say. I was so involved with so many different things.
But I have to say one of my favorite memories was initiation into the Thespian Society. It was awesome to be a part of that group and I still look back at it with fond memories. The plays that we did were great fun and I learned a lot.
Also, I loved going to all the football games and cheering for the Tigers. Even though we lost most of the time, I was still wanting them to win. And I loved playing volleyball.

I met my husband, John, in 1991, and after an engagement of 5 years, we were married in June of 1996. Our son, Austin Cody, was born in 1999 and is now almost 4 years old. He is the absolute love of our lives. We have a hard time remembering what we ever did before we had him. I think being a mom is the greatest thing in the world and hope to add a few more little ones to our family.
I just happened upon this sight and was surprised to see so many familiar faces and names. After graduating in 1988, I attended CFCC to seek a degree in journalism, but promptly became bored with that and quit. I went to work as a preschool teacher at A Country Daycare, working in a classroom full of two-year-olds. I absolutely loved the job and would probably still be working there if the pay was better, but unfortunately, I had to move on. I decided to go into nursing and I am now the office manager for Drs. Bellam and Deven here in Dunnellon.
We love living here in Dunnellon and can't imagine raising kids anywhere else. We just bought a new home in Rainbow Acres and plan on being here a long time. If you happen to see us around town, say hi. I would love to hear from old friends, either here in town or otherwise.
I met Dwayne in 1997…we married in 2003. We have one son, Dillon. He'll be two in Sept.
In 1989, I joined the USAF. I was stationed in Alaska, New Mexico (active duty), Indiana and Tampa (Air Guard). I came back to Ocala in 1996. After the military, I got into the mortgage business. It's in my blood--my dad did it--and I started working at Dunnellon State Bank when I was 13. I love it! Even in today's market. We live in Apopka. I think it's one of those places that you don't know about unless you have lived there. Sort of like Yankeetown! The only bonus, Orlando is just around the corner. We have a boat and we love to hang out in Crystal River. I have seen a few of you in the shallos over the years! This website has been wonderful! It's been a lot of fun reconnecting with so many of you!
Favorite Teachers: Mrs. Langley--but she was my favorite teacher at Yankeetown too!

I have two children, Shane and Amanda, who by the way I have custody of (Divorce, you know, everybody's doing it).
Well, where or where should I begin. Well, after high school, I went into the Marines of course (OOH RAH), es Wally talked me into it. I was stationed in Quantico, VA, where I met my wife Barbara. I then got transferred to Camp Pendleton, CA, where I then got sent to Somalia (not very fun over there, the only thing I could think of was how in the hell did I let Wally talk me into this s---!!!!) I did 7 years in the military and when I got out in '95 I moved to the wonderful Florida Keys. I spent a year there and then moved back to Ocala for a brief stint but missed the Keys too much so we moved back 'til November of 2000. After my divorce, me and the kids moved to the Ozark Mountains here in Arkansas where I have 106 acres, a couple of four-wheelers, and a couple of dogs. I built my mom a house and she is now living here and I am starting to build my house in the next 6 months or so. It's very different up here in the mountains, the air is fresher and the thing I hate about it is the snow. I plan on moving back to Dunnellon some time soon but until then I'll be hanging out in the mountains dealing with all these whiny Arkansas fans (I keep telling them they will never win the SEC lol) but they are persistent. Well, I am sure I bored you guys long enough, thanks for the time and space.

Many memories…although Friday night football games were great, as were band bus trips to games, band functions and chorus functions. Remember hanging out in town at the McDonald's or Pizza Pub parking lot, meeting up and finding the party!
Not married, but live with my significant other, Dian. Daughter, Payton, 3 years old.
After graduating from DHS in 1988, I went straight up to Gainesville to pursue a music education degree at UF. The six years that I spent in Gainesville were some of the greatest, next to my time at DHS of course! While there, I marched with the Pride of the Sunshine, the Gator Marching Band, for 5 years. By my sixth year, I was finally tired of putting on a band uniform, so I traded it in for a blue blazer and became a field assistant/conductor of the band. I did perform with many other ensembles at UF, the concert band, symphonic band, jazz band, basketball pep band, and the volleyball band. However, as in high school, my most fond memories all focus around the friends I made in the marching band.
In 1994, when it came time for me to intern in the school system, I chose the Tampa Bay area. I liked the area so much I decided to stay. My first job was as a music specialist at Summerfield Elementary. That year I was named the minority teacher of the year. I'm still not sure whether I like that honor or not. Does that mean I'm not good enough to be named the regular teacher of the year? Anyway, after two years of elementary music, I decided I needed my own band and not a classroom full of recorders and xylophones, so I transferred to Progress Village Middle School. As a new school, my band program only consisted of about 50 kids, but we still pulled off a "Superior" at contest that year. After two years there, I transferred to another new school, Rodgers Middle School in Riverview, FL. I'm now starting my 3rd year there as director of bands and the program is about 200 students strong!
Schools Attended: I am taking a year off (from teaching) to finish an MA in Reading, then starting an MA in Music in January '07. I feel like I will be an eternal student.

I still live with my Mom. For those of you that knew I was adopted, I have located my birth parents. I now have three sisters and two brothers. Still sounds weird to say "my sister" or "my brother". It has been interesting 14 years with them.
I worked in construction for a several years and then landed a job at the University of Florida. I have been working there since January 07, 1992.
One of my hobbies has been drag racing and the other would be animals. I have nine cats and two dogs. They are my children.

I now have a new fiancee, Laura, who is all I could ever ask for, and a beautiful little baby girl, Brooke Alyson, who was born on Father's Day, '08. What a present!
I actually moved back to Miami for my senior year of high school, then went to MDCC for a semester or two, then back up to Ocala to finish out my college career.
I moved back down to the Fort Lauderdale area in '95 and lived there until '01. I worked for a computer consulting company based in Madrid. I traveled extensively around the world (London, Madrid, Singapore, Buenos Aires, Lima, Bogota) consulting for Citicorp. I parted ways with that company in '00 after they folded there North American operations. At that point, I started my own computer consulting company (which I still own, but I only do that part-time.)
A friend of mine in the bail business in Miami suggested that I get my limited surety agent license, so I did in '01. Within one month of being licensed, he had me move to Key West to open and run a bail business. It was interesting, to say the least, and a trial-by-fire! I was there for a year and a half, but that didn't help out with my relationship with the soon-to-be ex-wife. Key West is a great town to party in, and we'll leave it at that!
Anyway, we got out of there in '03 and were divorced by the end of the year. I opened Bulldog Bail Bonds, Inc. here in Ocala in March of that year and things are going well.
We bought a new house in February, '08, in Ocala (but we still have the log cabin out in the woods in Rolling Hills.)

Although it was a hectic time in my life, I loved it all, not that I would want to return to all those insecurities that you feel in adolescence. I loved chorus and band and all the people in those groups and also my thespian friends who put up with me even though I couldn't act. Great times.

Well, not much to tell...I did get married back in 1997, but divorced in 1999. My family is mostly out here in CA, my mom lives next door, my sister lives a few miles away, and my brothers are lurking around somewhere...for those of you who remember my niece Shannon, she lives near Lake Tahoe with her husband Mike and two kids, Chaz and Jenna.
Since high school I've been doing...theatre! Be it college (CFCC and USF), community (OCT), or professional (Hippodrome), I've been able to supply my addiction for years. I'm now in California (about 3 miles from where I lived before I moved to FL) making a go of it out here. I've also dabbled in music (mostly the rock and roll sort), and there are recordings of that floating around (ask Keith Caudle). Other interests include traveling, trivia, sports, and of course sitting in front of a computer and stumbling through cyberspace.

Went in the military for a bit…ahh…good times…since I was pegged to go over there (Desert Shield), decided to get out and stay with my baby (Amber) instead. Not that I wouldn't be happy to go, you understand! Bailed to Virginia for a while after Samantha was born. Moved back to Destin 'cause I missed the water sooo much! Got married in 1997 and started working at Ford. LOVE MY JOB! If you need a new car, I can give employee rate to my Dunnellon friends! So, I'm here in Nebraska for a couple more months, then off to Colorado Springs to work at the Ford Business Center! We have lived in Illinois, Florida, Montana, Colorado, Nebraska, now back to Colorado which is, by far, my favorite place so far!

Food Service field trips. Looking back, I wish I had not taken some of those mean comments the kids made so seriously. Seeing James Corne's face when I told him I had had enough of the jokes the last week of high school was something I won't forget.
Life has been pretty good for me. I'll try and give you the short version. After high school I moved to Tampa to go to ITT Tecnhical Institute where I got a degree in Cad Drafting and Design. While attending ITT I took a job as a telemarketer for a small satellite dish company. I did pretty well there and became Operations Manager in a couple of years. Then the company went belly up (not my fault!) and I was forced to actually use my degree to earn a living. I worked for an architect in tampa for a couple of years. Then I met my wife. She was on vacation in florida, visiting a childhood friend of hers. That friend happened to be an aquaintance of mine and I got invited to a party and the rest as they say is history. Mary was a registered nurse at the time and was looking for a career change. She decided to become a chiropractor. So we moved to sunny Iowa, where she attended Palmer College of Chiropractic, in Davenport, Iowa. I took a job with an architectural firm and worked there for 7 years. When Mary graduated, an opportunity came up for her in Dubuque, Iowa to lease a clinic with an option to buy it. So we moved to Dubuque. She leased for a while and we just bought it. The clinic is really a neat building, built in 1870, it has 4 apartments and the clinic space. So now I get to try the landlord thing. When we moved to Dubuque, I decided to venture out on my own and start up Belcad, Inc., a consulting company that creates construction documents for architects and engineers. It's been two years now and things couldn't be better. My business is doing quite well (actually I am working my buns off!). We have 2 kids, C.C. who is 5 going on 16 - and Cameron who is almost 2.
I've been married for 17 years to a wonderful Atlanta girl, Laura, and we have an even more wonderful fifteen-year-old daughter, Lisa.
Hey! Well, I guess like many people here, I tried a lot of different things after high school. I went to school up at UF for awhile, formed a (sometimes) still-together rock band, The Pompeii Stoveheads (heard of us?), joined the Navy, became a submariner, got married, had a daughter, got out of the Navy and went to UCF, graduated, and started working for the Department of the Defense. We currently live in Evans, GA. We’ve been lucky enough to do a ton of traveling and we've even lived in Europe. We moved back recently for Lisa to go to high school here, but once she graduates, I’ll be chomping at the bit to live abroad again--maybe Korea or Australia this time?! I hope everyone's doing great! Please drop me an e-mail. I'd love to hear from any and everyone!

I hated every minute of high school. Not quite sure why, but it made me crazy. Favoritie memory was leaving...lol. Nothing against Dunnellon, I think I would have felt the same anywhere.
Hello Class of 1986 and all those who remember Leigh "Shannon" Williams. I missed this years class reunion but I was at the one in 1996. Wow! Where do I begin? It has been a pleasure reading everyone's profile. After I graduated DHS, I attended Valdosta State University on 4-year basketball/volleyball scholarship. I was an outstanding athlete in basketball at DHS and received the honor of high school all-american in that sport. The 4-years at VSU I received many honors and set many records some of which have not been broken. To name a few, I was a 3-time Kodak All-American and the youngest student athlete to have received this honor in the school's history. I scored 50 points as a freshman in one college game against Florida Southern College in Lakeland and was inducted into both the Lowndes County Hall of Fame in 1990 and inducted into VSU womens' basketball Hall of Fame in 1998 and I am still the school's 2nd leading scorer in history with over 2,600 points in 4-years. you can confirm this info by going to the school's website (www.vsu.edu) and go to the athletics hall of fame. After completing college with a major in Sociology and minor in Psychology. I knew that whatever job I chose it would have to be with working with children and families in counseling because I love talking and helping people. However, if you remember my future endeavor from the 1986 year book...my dream was to play professional basketball (in this case overseas because there wasn't a womens league in the States). While I waited to be called on that to happen, I moved back to Dunnellon and my first job was a Resident Assistant Counselor at the Rape Crisis Spouse Abuse Center in Ocala... I had weird hours working from 12midnight to 8 in the morning. I did that for 3 months before working at Marion Citrus Mental Health Center (now known as The Centers) as a Rehabilitation Counselor on the Crisis Stabilization Unit for three years. I left there after three years and was selected to play professional basketball in Tel Aviv, Israel!!! (I missed the first opportunity to play in Spain due to being 5 months pregnant) Boy! What a culture shock. This was in 1993 before the bombs and attacks were happening over there. I did have this opportunity to live this dream for 4 months...became home sick, did not like the distance and being away from my 1-year-old daughter by Leroy Chesteen - class of 1984 (We dated throughout high school and college). I decided to end my short playing career and move back home. I applied for jobs in the Orlando area and with the help of a VSU colleague/Alumni, I was hired as a Juvenile Probation Officer to work the aftercare program with the Center for Drug Free Living. I worked and lived there from 1993-1995. My sister, April Williams - Class of 1997 - informed me of a coaching opportunity at DHS in 1995 and still wanting to be part of the sport, I relocated back to Dunnellon where I taught 2 years at DMS with Erika Wiggins as my Teacher's Asst., and coached JV basketball and volleyball at DHS. I received another opportunity to coach and rebuild a girl's basketball program at Avon Park High School, so I left Dunnellon and transferred to teach Special Education and girls basketball/volleyball at that school from 1997-2001. The girls program had winning seasons every year that I was there!!!! YAY!!!! Because complications with my pregnancy, I was not able to continue living in Sebring and yearned to be closer to family and friends. I transferred back to Ocala and was special education teacher at Lowell Correctional Institution in Ocala. I worked until Jan 2002 (laid off due to 9/11/2001 and funding cut). I went back to teaching 1 year at Osceola Middle School, 1 year at North Marion High School before working my current job. I am currently living in the Ocala area with my 2 daughters, ages 15 and 5. I work with Children's Home Society of Florida in Citrus County as a Family Program Counselor. I love my job!!!! If you remember the good ole days and shared them with me at DHS please email me!

Moved from Dunnellon To Greensboro, NC in 1990. Worked for a Winston Cup team for a while. Met my wife while working there. moved to Danville, Va. in 1991. I've been working in the alarm business for the last 15 yrs. I was also an EMT/Firefight for the county I live in. I have been involved with our state reserve for the national guard for the past 3 years. I try to come to Dunnellon to see my family at least twice a year. Sometimes that is hard with a large family.
After Graduation, we packed up and moved back to Michigan. I became a Copier Technician for Mita Copiers. I enjoyed this job, I was able to travel all over Michigan and get paid at the same time. Also I was able to take my dream vaction, White Water Rafting the Grand Canyon. After the Copier job, I started working with the mentally handicapped, first at the Day Program and then becoming an Assistant Manager at the Group Homes. I also took a crash course at a college to get my Criminal Justice Certificate. The Deal was, take this course and you will have a job by October 1999 (not!!). The pay wasn't great at the Day Program, but I did get introduced to my wife Patsy by a co-worker. We were married in 1992 and have two daugthers, Autumn (1992) and Catherine (1985). At the time we got married I was attending college for Physical Therapist. When Autumn was two months old and roughly 3 years after I took the civil service exam the State of Michigan called me and offered me a job. I took the job, doubled our income and had better benefits for my family. What the heck, I put my wife through college (Occupational Therapist) and I can go back later. Well now I really don't care to go back to college

I returned to Florida and briefly worked as an EMT before moving to Pensacola to attend the University of West Florida where, in 1992, I earned a B.S. in Biochemistry. After graduation, I went to work for a pharmaceuticals testing lab in Research Triangle Park, NC. In 2000, I joined the Analytical Chemistry division of Research and Development at Alcon Laboratories in Ft. Worth, TX. Playing football for Dunnellon high School. The friends I made there are still my friends today. I lived for Fridays, Pep rallys, eating at the Dinner Bell, listening to that 8 track tape of Rocky, over and over again. Playing at the old field. Those were the GOOD OLE DAYS.......
I graduated from Dunnellon High in 1985, I remain in Dunellon to this very day. About 7 years ago I decided that fast food was no longer a way of life so I became an electrician. I worked in residential for 5 and a half years and for the past year I have been doing commercial work. I met my wife Kristine (a 1988 Dunnellon High graduate) in the hometown supermarket 11 years ago, 8 months later we were married and it's still going strong. In September of 1999 we became the proud parents of a baby girl named Megan. She is definitely the pride of our lives. She too will have the chance to grow and live in this beautiful little town. Kris now works in the deli-bakery in Kash and Karry. She has been there now for almost 12 years. We are glad to know that someone had the pride enough in Dunnellon to create such a great web site for all of the old friends to visit and communicate with each other. Thank you Cathy!
Since leaving high school I received a degree in theater from Troy State University and then my MFA in performance from the University of Tennessee. After graduate school I returned home and produced a couple of shows at CFCC with the help of Mr. Hartley. I then moved to New York City where I lived for 2 years honing my skills as an actor "Can I offer you any dessert this evening?". I decided to move back to Fl for a while, that lasted about 6 months before I packed my car and headed for the Grand Canyon. Why the Grand Canyon? Why not? I made it as far as Mississippi where I stayed in a cabin in the woods and did a lot of fishing. After 6 months of thinking "What do I do if I actually catch a fish?". I moved to Atlanta for 6 months and then finally back to New York City. I have been here for 3 years now. I am currently Artistic Producer of Southern Playwrights Theatre Company and have produced, acted and directed a couple of shows. I also perform with a Comedy Sketch group every two weeks at the New York Comedy Club. You can check out our web site at http://www.oculingus.com. Thats about it! Loving life, loving New York (call me if you are in the area), and looking forward to getting back in touch with my old friends!
Hello from James "Bubba" Murphy, class of 1984. I was the first to dunk in the new gym. I'm in the military, married and have two kids. I've been in the military for 14 years now. Keep in touch!
The early years: Graduated DHS in 1984, went to a tech school in Tampa for 2 years. Visited all of my friends in Big D as often as possible during that time until I graduated UEI with an AS in Electronics in 1986. Got tired of job-hunting and succumbed to an Air Force recruiter. Enlisted with 2 stripes in 1987 as a Nuclear Weapons tech. Got sent to Wichita, Kansas. Married Sherri Lawson (you may remember her, she attended DHS for a couple years) in 1988. Had a son (well, okay, she did most of the work) in 1991. Divorced Sherri in 1993. The later years: Got back together with Cathy Scola (the love of my life... drip, drip, drip) and she moved out to Kansas in August of 1993, we got married sometime the following year. She and I ended up getting custody of my son, Alex. (long story) Gave up the Air Force in 1995. Grew a beard just because I could... and liked it. Tried to grow my hair long... but it wouldn't cooperate. I put my Electronics degree to work and got a job repairing electronic test equipment for a couple years, moved on to a job with Raytheon Aircraft working on instrumentation on experimental airplanes, and then decided I wanted to try to get into the IT field. Bluffed my way into a Network/Database Admin job to get me started, and so far that line of work is holding up well. Somewhere around 2000, we came to Florida on a vacation, which we'd done before. But, this time we rented a car and actually drove around and SAW Florida again rather than just flying in and staying at a hotel in Orlando or something. It was Alex who first made the suggestion that we move to Florida... but we soon decided that we liked the idea. Within about a year, we had our finances in order, and once we got past the court battle to get permission to move Alex out of state (another long story), we moved to Tampa area. We are loving it here! I'm still kicking myself for living in Kansas for 15 years. Cathy and I get along wonderfully, and raising Alex has proven to be the most rewarding and challenging thing I've ever done.
Attended Gupton-Jones College Of Funeral Service in Atlanta, GA. after high school. Stayed and lived in Atlanta for almost 17 years as a funeral director/embalmer for one of the largest funeral homes in the country. In 1997 I left the funeral home and went to work for a Pet Funeral Home & Crematory in Atlanta. After two years of that, I moved to Pensacola, FL and opened my own business, Gulf Coast Pet Crematory, Inc. on August 1, 1999. In early 2008, I opened a 2nd location in Mobile, AL. In 2003, I was elected to the Board of Directors for the International Association of Pet Cemeteries & Crematories. I am slated to become Vice President in 2009 & President in 2011. Who knows, I may retire by then. lol I have never married and have no children. I have two dogs Elvis & Priscilla, both cockers.

I was there for just a short time 2005- early 2006 (Britton John is one of the greatest) I the got the call from an old big boss of mine...to come to Reno/Lake Tahoe, NV, and fix a couple of radio stations. I have been here over a year and ALL is great. Business is good...legal gambling and prostitution. (Met with Dennis Hoff (Bunny Ranch) in my office last week.) Going on a date with a HOT 25 year old...who has a masters degree, super rich...AND super beautiful! I can't complain. I have an 8 year old daughter who lives with me....I am priming her up to be a superstar. Dance classes, Piano lessons, acting class. She loves it...and who knows...she may make me a lot of money so I can retire with my 25 year old girlfreind soon.
Favorite Teachers: I loved them all....but the Hartley's took us to a different dimension!
Memories:
Russ Hamilton and I...stealing special Holiday cakes out of food service on our way to the Photography Dark room. Mrs. Burns...(r.i.p) had no idea that the dark room keys she gave us....were master keys to everywhere. Russ and I also set off some smoke bombs in the Dark room...where that assistant principal we had...(I forget his name) Almost caught us. Since he & I were both GREAT actors...we bull-shitted our way out of it. Another memorable moment was when....I was called out of Mr. Jones Math class to go run the mid-day on-air radio show at WTRS. (What was Mr. Wheeler thinking? Approving me to leave school to go work as a DJ...idiot).
I have a very loving hubsand an two 16 year old boys
Moved away in 84 to the Fl panhandle for a little while. Came to be near my brother an his wife. Never went to college school was just not my thing. Got married in 91 had a set of twins. Dear God ...what haven't I...Let's see-After graduating, in '82 I went to CFCC for a while to cultivate my love of the Theatre. That went well but for lack of funding , I went into the work force and there I've labored-LITERALLY LOL!!! After some TV cable work, and several years of surveying, I decided a change was in order. So, after a kind word from a friend (Larry Gunn- also a DHS grad) I went to Wal Mart in Ocala to apply. And as I've heard before...The rest is History. Been with them almost 17 years...and recently have moved myself and family to a quaint little city of DeQueen, Arkansas. Why, you ask ? (It's OK ask...everyone else has) Change ! It's good... Truly, though the main reason- got tired of dodging Hurricane de Jour. Between that and the fact that where I was living in Ocala (Marion Oaks) it got a bit too close for comfort...I mean the double homicide 3 doors down on one side of the street and 3 doors down on the other . Like all parents- the safety of our children is paramount. Arkansas is beautiful !!! Rolling hills, trees, cold weather around Christmas (Remember, I was born in Upstate N.Y.) A slower life -but nonetheless peaceful. I do miss my friends, thought ...YOU know who you are !!! One of few regrets is that the distance in miles (Like defication ) has occured . I was thinking of sending in a picture, but I'll wait until my beard grows back. Although I have more hair than my brother Shad (Loren, pardon me LOL) except for my head - most of it has gone white (And you thought I was scary before?)As I close, I wish ALL Alumni , both near and far , the best life can offer- and from reading what I have...you've found it. KEWL!!!!! Be Well. TTFN.
Favorite Teachers: Um- that would be Mr H...David H.
Memories:
Like my sister Cathy said...most likely the shows that we put on ...both in front of and behind the scenes. The laughter with friends...Volleyball games at the K.P. Hole. Our wild and crazy Monopoly games at Steve's house (or mine)((All Hail the Wizard or Wall Street..LOL)) And lastly National Insanity Days, both past and present.
I have worked for the State of Florida since 1988. After high school I wandered around trying to figure out what I wanted to be when I grew up. I actually wanted to work for the Division of Forestry but for some reason to be a forest ranger you had to have law enforcement experience. I had a friend whose mom got me a job at Marion Correctional Institution and I went to school to become a Correctional Officer. I figured that would get me the 2-years of law enforcement experience I needed to become that forest ranger. That was almost 20-years ago and I am still working for the Florida Department of Corrections. My family are all still in Dunnellon. My Moma & Daddy are both retired now and still on the same street, same address, same phone number. My brother and sister-in-law are in Dunnellon. You probably know my nieces and nephew. I pretty much live by the "Life is Good" saying. Because my life is good. I have been lucky to have had so much in my life. I have a great family and great friends. I am so rich and have been so blessed. I have lived in Gator Country for almost 15 years now, it's an orange and blue sky every morning! I never thought I'd get this close to retirement, but we are actually beginning to think about where to retire to...build or buy; on the water so we can fish all the time; or plenty of land so we can ride horses all the time? These are important decisions...that 27 years ago at Dunnellon High School I was not even thinking about.

After high school I set out to rule the world, failed at that, decided to enter the work force, tried a few different jobs be for settling in a carbide cutting tool shop (North American Products) where I worked for five and a half years. I learned every facet of the job and was asked to join the management team and move to Indiana. Had no desire to move that far away from family & friends so I left there and worked a few odd jobs. Managed a wallpaper store for a while and then went to work @ Ocala Paint Center, That lasted about a year, then I went to work at my current job. I live in Ocala, and I sell paint, carpet & wallpaper @ Central Florida Paints (Pittsburgh Paints Dealer) I'm currently outside/inside salesman. Been there for about 18 years.

Going to all our football games & pep club. GO TIGERS !!! And our Senior Cruise. All the friends I made and kept in touch with and the ones that I lost track of. Thank You for your friendship.

Married to the incomparable Ann Marie Jermyn, formerly of Gulfport, MS. We have 2 sons - August and Benjamin - and one daughter, Joanne, from Ann's prior administration.
After college, took a job with the Navy at Mare Island Naval Shipyard in Vallejo, CA, and grooved on the California lifestyle for a few years. Wanted to get back closer to home, so in late '83, I transferred to the Navy base in Panama City, which is where I am to this day with 6 years and some change 'til I can retire. Would that life came with pause and rewind buttons...
Favorite Teachers: Robert Vanover and David Hartley
Memories:
Plays were anxiety-ridden but always fun; we did "The Skin of Our Teeth" one year. Mr. Vanover pulled off field trips to SW Georgia to Kolomoki Indian Mound State Park and to St. Augustine that were a hoot. Grad Night at Disney World and the graduation trip to the Bahamas. Vanover did a history class lecture that would probably land a teacher in hot water now - while dealing with WW 2 topics, he would dim the lights in the portable (portable - I never saw them go anywhere!) and have a spotlight aimed up at his position at the podium where he mimicked Adolf Hitler, complete with hairstyle, armband and mustache, fist pounding and ACH-TUNGing! he would get spun-up with the ACH-ing and get to spraying after a spell so you didn't want to sit up front...Yes, if I had that remote control for life device, I'd be hitting the pause and rewind buttons for those...May God bless all the Dunnellon grads the world over.
Married: Jerry Cline

Own a construction company with my husband Jerry. I attended LSU (GO TIGERS!). I wanted to be a psychiatrist when I "grew up." I work as a medical records director at a psychiatric hospital instead. James and I worked in the Dunnellon area for several years, then we traveled for 1 year. We decided to settle in Dunnellon where we could raise our children. I worked in banking and then decided to switch to the school system. I have been with Dunnellon schools ever since.

Everything! I moved up to Dunnellon from Miami. What a difference. The people (young and old) were kind and seemed to really care. I did my best to be as involved as I could. Cheerleading, bat girl, Student Council, floats, clubs, Powder Puff football, I did all of it. I loved going to DUNNELLON HIGH SCHOOL!
I was married for 20 plus years and divorced in 2000. I have 4 kids: Anthony Sr. by Barbara Easmon who is also a graduate of Dunnellon High School, Kimberly Bailey who I adopted when I got married, Synee Bailey who is almost a Dr., and Callie Mae who is hopefully coming to South Fla. to live with me.
Since D.H.S. I lived in Nashville for 20 plus years. After my divorce, I moved to LA and worked in the film industry for about five years in both talent and production for Paramount Films, Taxi Films, and other production companies. When I lived in Nashville, I worked in country music video production and ran my own companies. Currently, I live in South Fla. and I am working on a late-night TV talk show.
Favorite Teachers: OMG it has been so long…but it was Mrs. Laufaner (sp). She was my English teacher.
Memories:
LOL. There were several. I used to be in FFA and we would hang out in the back of the room near the door and some of the kids would smoke cigs. Ricky Balic never had cigs and would always bum smokes. One day someone gave him a cig with a popper in it. When the popper went off Ricky gave me his braces to hold. lol
I graduated from DHS in 1972 although I was to graduate in 1971. In 1971, I quit and married David Finley. At that time, the system would not allow you to attend school if you were married, so I had to wait until the next school year when the law changed to return and graduate. We later divorced after 10 years.
We had two sons, Thomas and Scott. Both live in Lakeland where I reside with my husband Rodger King, Sr. He has two sons, Rodger Jr. and Kevin. We have three grandchildren as of today, with our first granddaughter being born this afternoon to our son Scott and his wife Stephanie. We love spending time with our family and spoiling our grandsons, Tyler and Nathan.
I recently retired from the Polk County Sheriff's Office as a detective in the child abuse unit. My husband is a lieutenant and plans to retire in the next few years. We love to travel by RV and have a motorhome which spends a lot of time on the road. When Rodger retires, we plan on moving to Putnam County in North Florida where we own a place jsut off the St. John's River. I would love to hear from some of my old friends from Dunnellon, Inglis, and Yankeetown where I grew up. I think it would be great to have a 30-year reunion this year.

After I graduated in 1972, I married Gene Peters. We moved to Colorado in 1979 and had two children.
In 1994, my youngest and I moved back to Dunnellon. The last few years I have been busy working and going to school. At the present time, I am working at Dunnellon Elementary. I would love to hear from any one who remembers me from high school.
I have not married but have had a long-term live-in romantic relationship with a super guy who I met in 1976.
I went to college for a couple of years and quit to ride racehorses and then polo ponies. I lived in Houston and then in a series of ugly little towns in Texas, as well as Tulsa and Norman, Oklahoma. For 13 years, I spent half the year in Andover, Kansas, and the other half in Lake Worth and Sarasota (Florida). Additionally, I traveled quite a bit in the US and some trips to other countries. Through it all, I have had huge amounts of fun. I finally grew up, went back to college, and am now teaching high school English in Wichita, Kansas. I still ride horses almost daily and manage the Wichita Polo Club during my summers.
Favorite Teachers: Mrs. Scott (English teacher)
Memories:
Wow - there are many. Smoking in the bathroom and getting caught by Mrs. Sears. Getting sent home because my skirt was too short. Giving a speech (in class) on women's lib and using the Black Panthers as part of my support for my thesis. Climbing out a window to skip class after I entered the room and the teacher was still in the hall. Also, the dances after football games and senior honor study hall that had no teacher - we were in charge. We also had a designated smoking area that year. Most of all, I remember people such as Diana Miller, Arthur Corey, Kevin Farris, Darwin Munnsey, Joel and Bobbi Sturtz, and Dennis Bradshaw. Then there were my nicknames - Yankee Ragpicker and Nanook of the North.
Married and divorced (I won't tell you how many times!). Currently single for almost 10 years. Twin sons (soon to be 37). One lives in Decatur, AL and is a union metal worker. The other is in Tulsa, OK and is a paramedic. 6 grandkids (including steps) from 5 to 25.
I spent 6 years in the Air Force. After that, I worked for about 24 years in the IT business. After being "downsized" once too often, I made a late-life career change to the trucking industry. After 4 years of being a "company" driver, I started my own company and have been happily self-employed ever since.
